Windows 10 download folder dates

If it was a week ago, or last month, the files will be grouped accordingly and you have a smaller sub-set of the files to look through. If you later realize that this sort of grouping was good for the Downloads folder, or you prefer to use it for different folders, the option is right there.

Awesome for finding that. For us, the view is saved permanently not changing to default, let us see if it comes back again so that we can apply the fix. Affected users can try the fix and let us know. This is certainly not a in any way more working fix than using the context menu.

Other apps that show the file explorer also show groups in the download folder. Thank you. Remember you should change the group sort only from the Explorer Ribbon not from right click options.

Another useless change by the mentally challenged over at Microsoft. Why did they think disabling the option to change the grouping was a good idea?

I just switched to Linux myself. Setting the Group By option of Downloads in File Explorer worked fine for me, however the Save As dialogue window keeps displaying the Downloads grouped by date. Is there any registry edit that could stop this?

Usual crap from redmond sorry to say that. They always think they know it better than the user. Perhaps MS telemetry data picked up on that. Anyway, the Group By makes since for a lot of users. Or they can easily see the last item s deleted to recover them.

If I want to se the latest deletes or downloads, i click on the modified column for sorting. Thank you! Fixing this and being able to delete the Xbox app are the relief after 3 hours and 40 minutes waiting for this to download and install.
